What do I wear to my session?

Another post by our content editor, Krista! Enjoy!

What should you wear to your GYROTONIC® class?

Traditionally, GYROTONIC® sessions are done in the nude.

Just kidding!

Sorry if I scared you.

Really, you don’t need to overthink this, but it is the common question when you’re trying a new fitness or movement method. I’m not going to tell you how to dress, but here are some things to think about when you’re picking out something to wear for your session:

Your clothes should be…

Comfortable
Sweatpants are totally cool. Yoga pants even though we won’t be doing yoga. T-shirts. Long sleeve. Short sleeve. Tank tops. Whatever you’re most comfortable wearing.

Close to the body
It will be easier for both you and your trainer if whatever you wear fits somewhat close to the body. You don’t have to go skintight but it will help if it’s not overly baggy or loose. Remember, your trainer needs to be able to see your body to help you. Also, you don’t want your drapey cardigan to get caught in a pulley on one of the machines. That’s no good.

Movable and stretchable
You’ll use a large range of motion, so make sure you can do that in your clothes and that you won’t be worrying about stretching or tearing things during your session.

Footwear
Wear socks or go barefoot. It’s up to you.

And that’s it! Most people wear some sort of yoga pant or capri or leggings and a tank top or t-shirt. The most important thing is that you are able to focus on what we’re doing without worrying about what you’re wearing.

And if you want to go nude, just let your trainer know in advance.
